Dermapen is a micro-needling treatment that is performed by using multiple tiny needles to create micro-channels deep in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production. By creating microchannels, selected active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, peptides and growth factors are able to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin where it can perform different tasks, depending on the purpose of the treatment. What to Expect: Topical Numbing Cream can be applied 15-30 minutes before treatment Sensation: Slight prickling sensation Discomfort Level: Minimal discomfort Side Effects: Immediately after treatment a mild sunburn effect will be experienced (redness and swelling) which can last 1-3 days. During the healing process the skin can feel dry and flaky due to the skin barrier being disrupted Caution: Can trigger cold sores. DO’s and DON’Ts Use only GF1 spray for the first 24hours No Exercise and sweating directly after your treatment Avoid using a cleanser for 24-48hours Apply serums containing hyaluronic acid to hydrate and repair the skin Avoid direct sun exposure for 7 days Apply a broad spectrum sun screen every day Stop the use of Retinols and AHA 3-5 days BEFORE and AFTER your treatment
